24 Hours to Live

Ethan Hawke in an action flick!? That’s what it seems based on the title.

Not really his cup of tea or what you go to the movies to see Ethan Hawke for, or would expect him to do. Although he plays a man using booze and drugs to drown his sorrows after the death of his wife and kid. That’s something I can see Hawke doing.

But on top of the personal story used to make him seem more human,Hawke plays a contract killer whose killed on his last mission, but the folks who hired him have come up with a way to bring the dead back to life, but it only last for 24 hours.

Hawke becomes somewhat desperate in his attempts to stay alive long enough to clean up a mess he’s centered in and becomes a gun blazing action hero doing some very cool ( and violent) action sequences.

Not all of it done by Hawke. He’s being assisted with the action by Qui Xing, who plays an interpol agent assigned to protect the man Hawke was hired to assinate. Between the both of them the action is pretty exciting.

Its not all action though as there is s small bit of light hearted banter, so they are using Hawke to his full stature.

I can see why Hawke would do it. It reads like a standard action movie but it’s well done  they have really good action in it as well as good acting and a decent story put together well. It could have just been all about the action but the quaility is espically substantial
