Inside

Very intense thanks to big Willie Defoe but not gripping. I found myself trying to stay awake.

Defoe gives an inspiring performance as a man struggling to escape the most beautiful cage someone can be trapped in as a cat burglar who gets trapped by a failed security alarm in someone’s super deluxe apartment in the sky.

It’s a film about an at thief steeling art and I can assume there is an artistic metric to the movie I was too bored to get.

Inside does have good moments of quiet contemplation interspersed with sudden bursts of action and suspense. The cinematography is stunning, with beautifully composed shots that add to the overall mood and atmosphere of the film.

Overall, “Inside” is a movie that is easily forgotten. It’s supposed to be haunting and thought-provoking but I might not be art literate to get it.
