The Final Destination

Catchy new title for the new movie.

Released in that film going moment where everything is in 3D the gimmick only lessons the death scenes with a bunch of over bloated CGI that weakens the overall effect.

The movie makes up for this with the in-movie concept of how 3D is a gimmick, with all the characters looking forward to seeing a fictional 3D movie. Final Destination is not afraid to admit how stupid it is, which I most certainly give it credit for.

As much of a money grab the whole Franchise is The Final Destination is getting more obvious as “Death’s Design” only truly makes sense if Death were using the people who were supposed to die but did not for a greater good. A strange plot device for a slasher film, but the other movies in concept were about a freak accident that would kill a group of people, of which some were saved by one person who could see death’s design and used that knowledge to change it only to discover the balance that is Death’s design will not allow that. No one but the ones who cheated Death would die, but this movie broke the concept unless like I said Death was using those who tried to cheat it for a grander design., which would make any sense on anything but a slasher movie trying to be a little more creative.

Disappointed that Tony Todd was not in the flick. Is it a coincidence that I know I saw the movie before but don’t remember is because Todd was not in it? I think not.

The action sequences did not wow me. They technically did not have to because they were trying to exploit the 3D over everything else.

They had a good idea of starting this thing off early with the massive death at the racetrack, but they’ve done better.

One last thing, a bit of a low blow but Nick Zano is like the B-grade of Pretty White kids with problems.

My own precognition that number three should have been the Final Destination seems to fit into “Horror’s Design”
