The Kitchen (2019)

It just felt like it could have been better.

Honestly wished I could say this movie was way better. Two of the funniest ladies on the planet Melissa McCarthy and Tiffany Haddish team with Elisabeth Moss on a drama about three Irish wives who took over the underbelly of Hell’s Kitchen while their husband’s were locked up. Haddish and McCarthy actually bring some excellent performances to the movie as well as Moss but the movie in itself was going through the formula so fast that the story suffers. They set up the premise so fast that I assumed that met they were going to get to the good stuff early. That’s not what happen. Scene after scene was chopped up to the point that the movie had no flow to it and it made it dull, even those points where reveals on the story should have floored us, but instead it just raised a brow. Those oh snap moments just seem lessen without much needed meat in the depth of the plot. This movie really falls short from being magic. It was like close enough to touch but…
