But I see it’s not coming from nowhere.
John C. Reilly and Joaquin Phoenix make a great team with excellent cchemistry. I am not surprised, as they have a lot in common if you think about it in terms of careers. Both Indi darlings at their core who have a big mainstream following.
Would not have pictured Reilly as a western hero until after I saw this picture. He really pulled it off using light humor and the attitude of doing what needs to be done to protect his little bother Charlie, played by Phoenix, who I can see easily as a trigger happy outlaw too willing to use his gun to cash a check his mouth owes. It’s a slow burn similar to Slow West, that does go faster with cast that also includes Jake Gyllenhaal and Riz Ahmed in supporting roles. Quiet but easy to stomach.
