Man, was that dumb!

This was the type of movie I should have saw when I was a kid. I was expecting that The Goonies vibe to it that should have made it a classic. Me personally, I never herd of the movie, and was curious  about it, especially after hearing that an underage Ethan Hawke was the star (Being supported by River Phoenix)

So I caught it on Nexflix. Well the premise of the movie was right up my alley. Hawke plays a kid who, with the help Phoenix creates a Star Trek-like force field, that allows them to travel in space, and they built a ship that takes them there were they make contact with goofy aliens.

So it starts off peaking my interest and then becomes this movie that I did not want to follow anymore.  Young Mr. Hawke seems to have the acting chomps at twelve that will make him a well known actor, but it’s not suited for what will turn out to be a dry attempt at making kids laugh.

It maybe one of those things were if I had seen it with The Goonies back in the 80s I may have grown to love it, but I doubt it. Most likely I would have loved the memory of the movie as a kid and not understand why I thought it was cool as an adult.
