Mothers and Daughters

The stories are positive uplifting but a little too perfect. I feel like it’s something needed in this wave of feminism, especially for a movie about Mother’s Day, but overall, everything wrapped up in a neat ball that left me with nothing

It was the perfect situation for everyone. Even the men in the movie were perfect. I’m hoping that every woman who saw it got exactly what they wanted out of its perfection. I feel really flawed as a human being that I didn’t.

The pefection of the stories did not leave any room for character development. Both Sharon Stone and Susan Sarandon played tough and strict moms  that I never get a chance to hate before that touching moment when they make up with their daughters. You see the tension but don’t feel it cause it’s over as soon as it starts.

There is a word in literature that states the perfect this movie is. It escapes me now, but this film was an obvious ploy to get mothers and daughters to hug one another on Mother’s Day and I hoped it worked.

It was like the ultimate greeting card.
