Acts of Violence

Pretty stright up action crime drama, with a few elements that make it standout

Its drug and sex trafficking as Bruce Willis gives a decent performance as a run down cop who has to find a kidnapped woman in what seems like a hopeless situation.

Cole Hesser, whose the real star (or co-star )plays the woman’s older brother, in a classic action movie archetype, he’s an ex-vet on the edge, who takes the law into his own hands.

Backing him up is Shawn Ashmore, as his brother and fellow vet who gives a speech on loosing his family if he becomes a vigilante, but of course does it anyway.

They have a younger brother who is the fiancé of the kidnapped woman (she is there foster sister). Not a vet, his two older brothers have to train him to do armed combat on the streets.

Give a shout out to Mike Emps who plays The main bad guy. Man was he really good in his villainy. He had a great personality, running the game with a style that’s worthy of him becoming the next scarface or Frank White, but I got to remember, his main income is loring young runaways on the street into white slavery.

Speaking of, I loved the kidnapped woman, Mia. She’s the perfect charater for the times as she refuses to be the victim and she’s constantly clawing her way out trying to escape and refusing to bow down.

I’ll give the movie props for its attempts to paint the grim side of taking the law into your own hands, it’s a bitter sweet tale.

Overall, I did love the film.  It’s a book entre into the action film genre with a few unique twist to the formula.
