Justice League

Well, I went into this thing not thinking much of it at all. The DC Extended Universe is no where near the level of what the Marvel Cinematic Universre is doing at it had nothing to do with which comic book characters I’m founder of.

DC had forty three years to get this done (being owned by major Hollywood studio Warner Bros. snice 1974) and this is the best it came up with?

OK, I’m starting off too harsh for Justice League. In reality it’s not a bad movie it’s just no Avengers. Not even having the director of the Avengers Jose Whedon reshoot some scene that Director Zachary Snyder could not do for personal issues could put this movie on the level of the Avengers.

(I’m kinda curious which scenes did Whedon reshoot. He got credit for writing them so I would guess he added more Wonder Woman as a result of her movie still being the best thing the extended universe has made and from an insigram photo the guy playing the man of steel release he also reshoot somenfight scenes)

The only real thing that made me want to see this movie is Batffleck. I like what Affleck did with the charater. He was the best part of Batman v Superman and he was the best part of suicide squad (which is a total diss to their movie), but his performance in this was weak. They went for a too real Batman concept. The idea that he’s an old man in a game now being played by metahumans. On one hand it’s a perfect arc for Batman to gather a team of superheroes to help him fight a big treat coming. On the other hand, this is not a believable Batman. This Batman looked slow and overweight and it seem that was what they were going for over rather than the fact that Affeleck who looked good in Dawn of Justice decided not to get back into shape as the Dark Knight.

I actually like Wonder Woman more in this film than her own. More so because she seemed to be using her powers the way I more expected than the last movie (which in all fairness introduced a rookie Wonder Woman)

Jason Momoa was another one I wanted to see in the movie. I thought his casting as aquaman was perfect, and it was but they did not use him well. Basiclly what you saw in the trailers was pretty much it and you don’t get much more in the film.

The cybrog was pretty good though. They seem to really get the Character down for his first movie. That was definelty a highlight. I also like Ezra Miller as the Flash (although very different from the guy in the comic)

A lot of people were saying that the villain Steppenwolf was the worse part of the movie. Not sure if I fully agree. They definelty made a mistake by having him just be a CGI character, but it though his taking over the world story was good, just not implemented well for the big screen.

And that’s the real problem with Justice League, it’s not epic enough. This was my problem with The second Avnegers movie, Age. Of Ultron (but note: age of ultron was better). I’m glad that Justice League did not use the whole inter turmoil with the team as a heavy story arc. The Justice League is a group of loners but from the start they understand why they need to come together (just like the song that kept playing in the trailer says). The villain that they faced was perfect in the sense that he was not deeply connect to the group on the personal level and his wanting to destoy the Earth was not vengeful, just pure evil, and he had an epic way of doing it. It just did not feel episc at all it felt every very small, which is bad for a group whose power level is that of the Justice League.

There are times in the film when they try to copy the success of the Avengers, as some of the plot is connected to other movies in the extended universe, with the movie notedly being a direct sequeal to BAtman v Superman. Plus they tried to keep it light ( ironically this came a lot from Batffleck) yet the universe is still a little too dark in ways that are out of character for those who follow the comic
