Hit Man

Not the 2007 movie Hit man, based on the video game, but the 1972 Blaxpolation film starring the recently passed away, Bernie Casey. Similar to the Get Carter (Referring to the Sylvester Stallone remake, personally), Casey stars as a man who comes to the city after hearing of his brother’s sudden death, and of course he wants to know why he died so he does some investigating.

I will not even sugar coat this. I wanted to see the movie because Pam Grier is in it. I love  Pam Grier and that was a bonus. I assumed that Pam’s role would be as Casey’s bad ass lady and she would be his back up with the shot gun, when he takes down the suckas (and of course they would do some sweet loving before the firefight starts), but this was too early in Pam’s career. Somewhere in-between the Women in Prison movies she did with Roger Corman  and her breakout starring role in Coffy (If the dates are correct she probability went from doing her role in this, to doing Coffy).

Pam plays an actress in the porn industry who becomes a key element for Casey’s character to discover what happen to his blood.  Now of course, the fact that Pam plays a porn star means I got to see the other side of what makes me love Pam Grier so much. The movie does not disappoint at all with that, but I’m guessing the reason why I never herd of this movie until now was because she was not doing some pay back on some Jive Turkeys or cracker ass mother fuckers.

I went through a lot of trouble to see this movie too. It was not on netflix so I had to sign up to another Streaming service (Brown Sugar on Amazon Prime) to find it. Not to complain, it was worth it, well worth it. Like I said, Pam Grier played a porn actress, and I like Bernie Casey in it. Talking that Jive, taking out the bad guys and making sweet love to a whole lot of women, looking great while doing it. Interesting enough, I did like this one part of the movie when Bernie had to chase down some cat, showcasing the football skills that make him a black superhero.

So Hit Man would be easily forgettable if it was not for every so lovely Pammy, and it’s so worth it to watch for her.
