Beatriz at Dinner

Awesome!

It’s true what I heard, it’s a cool movie perfect for the political Issues of today. Then again a lot of what’s being done is timeless.

Beatriz is the perfect example of the left wing and what I like about her is that she can represent everything good about the left wing and everything annoying about the left wing.
It has this one seen in which the woman at the dinner party are all talking and I love the fact that Salma Hayek is so much smaller than the other women who represent that conservative side. It just goes to make her feel even more out of place as these women mingle. She barely has anything to say and when Beatriz starts on a serious talk and then they convert to reality television, the look on Beatriz’s face is perfect!

John Lithgow plays the conservative side. It’s easy to like the character because Lithgow is doing it. His right wing is not as evenly played as Hayek’s Left wing, but I think that’s why Connie Britton was in the film trying to show the good side of the right wing, but in reality she only comes across as a woman who thinks she’s doing the right thing.

Either way, it is one of the best fish out of water stories that I have seen. It’s easy to relate to Beatriz who seems so out of content with the others at the party. It was done with subtlety and brilliantly.
