The Berlin Syndrome

Slow burn made a great payoff.
The Berlin syndrome is about an Aussie tourist in Berlin who makes nice with a school teacher that takes her hostage.
The film gives a very vivid Portrait of what it’s  like to be trapped and living with the person who trapped you. For the most part, The School Teacher did not have her in the room strap to a bed, although their was that point. She was free to walk around the home, and she had to learn to get along  with with her captor, who obviously had a lot of emotional problems.

To the outside world the dude seem like an average guy who was painfully shy but as it turned out he has a huge secret in his house. Very creepy as it unfolds.
It was a fascinating story about the strange bond the kidnapped has with The kidnapper.   It was slow, a lot to tune into but that help with making us feel for the character.
